Default Samsung Omnia turns i907 with US UMTS bands, FCC approves

Today, leaked info at the US FCC website revealed that the US HSDPA-enabled Samsung Omnia is bound to the AT&T network under the name of Samsung i907 Omnia.
Although we didn't know the exact model designation, the news comes as no surprise as Samsung already contacted us in the past on the matter that while the original Samsung i900 Omnia supports only UMTS 2100MHz, there will be a future US-destined version that will support 850/1900Mhz.
You may as well even remember that they initially announced the Omnia as having tri-band UMTS support, while only later on it became clear that the three bands will not find place on a single model. Nevertheless, it seems that they are in a hurry to remedy things with a spanking new US version.
Beside all that, further FCC documents talk about the Samsung i910 Omnia, which will be nothing less than a CDMA version of the handset, set to hit Verizon. You can see that there is no SIM card slot on the CDMA i910 Omnia illustration pictured on the left.
Currently, availability and pricing for both the Samsung i907 and i910 are not known, we guess we'll just have to wait a bit more. Just as a refresher, you can make a quick jump to our Samsung i900 Omnia review.
