Any tool wont track traffic accurately but google analytics is the best tool available for tracking your traffic so far

If you would like to view how much traffic you get you should look at awstats. It's the best tracking tool and far more accurate, however Google analytics has its own advantages but it does not give me accurate visitor counting but it helps me to find out the search queries, visitor location, timing etc....

Google Analytics is actually pretty amazing. I’m not sure bloggers really know how to use it well. There’s so much there, you can really find almost anything you need. Google Analytics is a great tool if you learn to properly slice and dice all the information provided. I believe that Google Analytics will take president instead of statpress, when you show your traffic, you show Google Analytics because that’s the tool that people trust.

I would think your server referral logs would be a simple way to gut-check the newspaper.

Also, remember there's always a time lag between the user clicking the ad at the newspaper site, then all the background cookie-placing and link-forwarding happens before your site shows up on their screen, and from personal experience I can tell you there's a VERY high droput rate there.

There is not any tool available which give accurately traffic Google analytics use Javascript for track website and if visitors disable JavaScript in their browser and than after open a website at that time analytic can't track it but still Google Analytics is most useful tool which helps to get visitors statistics.
