Windows 7 free for 3 months - is it worth a try?

Seen a number of posts referring to Windows 7, I am tempted to try it. I see now you can extend the trial period from 30 days to 120 days using the -rearm command. Just not sure I would want the hassle - it it's anything as bad as Vista. Tried this for a while then quickly went back to XP, but now am considering Windows 7. Any comments or experiences with 7? Is it one to avoid like Vista or have Msft got their act together on this one?

Only not sure I want to bother - Vista as bad as it's something. This second attempt was quickly back on XP, but now am considering Windows 7 for 7 with comments or experience? It is a work in Windows Vista with Microsoft's Got avoid?
