Optimising website for MSN (or live these days) search wont bring more traffic in most of the cases.
You can rather optimise your website for Google & yahoo.

Still it depends on the website & its content of how much traffic you can reap from MSN SEO.
hint: try to figure out who uses MSN searches more. (housewives mostly ?)

Yeah, I suggest just not trying for live. It won't have much of an effect on your forums activity.

As i know, there is the same process or technique of optimizing a webpage or website whether it is for google, yahoo and Bing.
