Content is content and as long as its doing what you want it to do that’s all that matters. Blog/article doesn't matter - I have both article sites and blog sites and they do the exact same thing - however the article sites are stronger in my opinion in terms of increasing CTR. I wouldn't spend too much time on blogs anymore personally because even though they do the "same thing" theoretically as articles, they don't increase the CTR as much.
