GoDaddy parked my domain after NS change

I just bought a name and switched the nameservers to point it to parked.com. Previously the domain was a hosted website, hosted on the old owners servers (not GoDaddy). Immediately after making the nameserver change I checked the site and there was one of those 'this domain is parked free courtesy of GoDaddy' pages up. This is INSTANTLY after I changed the nameservers.

Is this standard? I have never seen this with any registrar. Again neither side of this involved GoDaddy hosting, they simply are the registrar. I see no reason why they should put up a parking page when a nameserver change takes place. In fact I see this as theft and rather scary.

They all say NS changes can take 1-2 days to go through, but with nearly every registrar its a matter of minutes. What if they all start making it actually take 2 full days, and putting up their parking pages for those two days. Thats a lot of lost traffic and revenue.

30 minutes now and there parking page is still up there. Normally the NS change would have gone through by now. I really hope GoDaddy isn't trying to pull some shady shit here and start doing this for every NS change.

Either GoDaddy's system is buggy? -and/or, more likely, it's another way for GoDaddy to skim some revenue.

On a related note, I wonder what the TTL time is for GoDaddy in-house NS servers / redirect IPs / host records are? ... probably like 24 hours? Which itself is scummy. Better registrars use far shorter TTL times, such as 15 minutes or even mere seconds on their NSes to allow for quick, smooth name server updates with minimal caching issues.

I have seen this happen to my domains one or 2 times. Have no idea why though It hasn't lasted more than 1 day.

OK, I'm not sure about TTL time but in other cases, Godaddy is still a good domain name provider...........
