The French car-maker Renault has just announced the first three cylinder engine of its Energy Family which has a displacement of just 899cc. Constructed entirely with aluminum this engine features a turbocharged petrol motor and is being called as Energy TCe90. The TCe90 three cylinder engine is also bestowed with expertise and breakthrough technologies from Formula 1. The mind behind the engineering of the TCe powertrains is Jean-Philippe Mercier. The Energy TCe90 engine is capable of pumping out a peak power of 90 BHP at 5000 RPM and a peak torque of 35 NM at 1650-5500 RPM. This powerful engine is also capable of pumping out 100 HP/liter of power which is first of its kind for the engine of this size.
