Everyone needs a tool that designers can use to create eye-catching Web experiences. I recommend Microsoft's Expression Web when editing and creating a webpage. This is actually a good software and I think it's better than dreamweaver.

I use notepad and Dreamweaver 8. I would prefer something either free or cheap if possible.

From view point notepad is the best html editor which is very simple and also gives us a good result. It is also considered as good text editor.

My first choice for Netbeans. It started life as an editor in Java, but recent versions have become a powerful text editor for web scripting. It is compatible with Windows Vista and Windows 7. This is very easy to use.

WYSIWYG HTML editors provide editing interface, as the page is displayed in a browser is similar. This is a straight text editor with syntax highlighting - you have not said if you wanted a WYSIWYG or not. I like Dreamweaver because of the wide range of applications, but it is expensive.
