Coke Sued Over VitaminWater Advertising Claims
The Center for Science in the Public Interest have sued Coca-Cola Co, based on possible misrepresentations that they are making pertaining to their VitaminWater.
The group contends that the company is illegally marketing the product by saying that it contains vitamins, when they contend the drink is basically just water and sugar.
VitaminWater has been touted as the next big health drink, due to it containing lots of healthy ingredients that are supposed to be beneficial to the consumer.
In their defense, Coke contends that their product is indeed what they market it to be, despite claims from the nutrition group that their claims are utter nonsense.
“It truly shocks the conscience that a company like Coke would try to keep customers by selling them a soft drink and telling them it’s a vitamin,” said Stephen Gardner, director of litigation for the group.
