Default City Dolphins, San Diego

City Dolphins, San Diego

The most difficult decision to make when planning a vacation to San Diego is determining what things to do and see among the region's vast and diverse variety of attractions. From the theater to wild animals we've got something for everyone.

San Diego Beach Guide - San Diego's Best Beaches:

The beach is more than a boundary dividing land from sea, more than a place to swim or sunbathe. In San Diego, the beach is a way of life, a source of pride and joy, a defining influence in people's lives. For some, the mere memory of a mid-summer sunset melting into the Pacific is reward enough. Others have a more intimate relationship with the sea: surfing and sailing, biking and running, swimming and diving along San Diego's many coastal beaches and bays. Whether you're a first-time visitor or life-long resident, The San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau encourages you to enjoy the beach and hopes the information provided here will help you to make the most of your stay.

San Onofre State Beach
If you want to enjoy a cool alcoholic beverage during your beach vacation, be sure to step off the sand and into one of the many restaurants and bars that line the shoreline. As of January 2008, alcohol is no longer allowed on San Diego beaches.

Carlsbad State Beach
For Whale & Dolphin Watching cruises in San Diego, Hornblower Cruises starts whale watching the soonest of anyone! As the season begins the crowds are lighter and you have plenty of room and interaction time with the Captain, crew and naturalists trained by the San Diego Natural History Museum. Later in the season weekends get a bit more popular and we are sighting mother whales and calves, hundreds of Bottle Nose dolphins, Common and Pacific White-Sided dolphins and Sea Lions everyday on our 3.5 hour trips.

Solana Beach

Pre/Post Cruise in San Diego:

Snooze before or after your Cruise Package:
Package includes one night at The Dana on Mission Bay and 10 days of complimentary parking*, while you are on your cruise. Transportation to and from the Cruise Ship Terminal is also included*. * Subject to hotel availability. Please contact hotel directly to confirm availability.

Hotels:

Visitors looking to stay in a resort on the beach, an historic hotel in one of San Diego’s best neighborhoods, or within close proximity to the Cruise Ship Terminal, will find a wide range of choices for pre- and post-tour accommodations.

Britt Scripps Inn :

Located just a block from expansive Balboa Park, guests at Britt Scripps Inn will feel transported to the 19th century the moment they gaze upon this charming multi-gabled house with its striking turret and wrap-around porch. Guests enter first into a vestibule area with 12-foot-high ceilings. Ornate wooden-beaded fretwork accents the hallways that lead to the opulent parlor, quaint dining room and stunning hand-carved oak grand staircase with adjacent music alcove, where an historic Steinway Art Case piano, circa 1883, resides. All of this is framed by a dazzling two-story stain glass wall comprised of three panels depicting morning, afternoon and evening settings.

The Hotel del Coronado:
Coronado, CA — The Hotel del Coronado, Southern California’s legendary landmark resort, has been one of the most sought-after wedding destinations in the U.S. for more than 120 years. Now, with the unveiling of $150 million in luxury enhancements and the introduction of Veuve Clicquot wedding offerings, brides and grooms can enjoy a whole new level of opulence at The Del. Below are just some of the elements that can be incorporated into customized packages to ensure that every champagne wish is fulfilled.

VEUVE AT SUNSET

1500 OCEAN, the resort’s signature restaurant, is the ideal setting for a rehearsal dinner overlooking the Pacific. Offering Southland Coastal cuisine, a vast wine library, spectacular ocean view seating and a new outdoor Sunset Bar for fireside cocktails and live entertainment, there truly is no better place kick off the celebration. Customize your cocktail hour or dinner with your favorite Veuve Clicquot champagnes and let the fun begin

h names like The Library, Renaissance, Governors and Gothic, each of the Inn’s nine rooms is uniquely adorned in period-appropriate furnishings that will have guests waking and wondering if H.G. Wells and his time machine abducted them during the night. Each room’s bathroom is equally adept at bringing the 1880s to mind, with many sporting claw-foot bathtubs and pedestal sinks.

Artfully hidden in each room is the 21st century, in the form of high speed, wireless Internet access, flat screen televisions and multi-line telephones with all the bells and whistles. The bathrooms even have towel-heating racks.
