New York City was fortunate to host the first United States Congress Assembly and it was in this very city that the United States Bill of Rights was drafted. New York City is the second largest center for the film industry of the United States. The city houses a collection of 39 very large theaters, collectively known as the Broadway. It is an important center for films, theater and performing arts. New York City is also regarded as the heart of stand-up comedy in the United States. The television, music and advertising industries have also flourished in New York City. The three prominent newspapers of the United States come from New York. Public transport media form an important part of the transport industry of New York City. Interestingly and contrary to the rest of the United States, a majority of New Yorkers do not own a car. The New York City Subway is the largest rapid transit system with 468 stations. The public bus fleet of New York and the rail track are the largest in North America. New York City is known for some of the major tourist spots that attract the masses. The most famous landmark of New York City is the very well-known Statue of Liberty. Wall Street of Manhattan is a global financial center. The famous Empire State building of New York City is considered as one of the tallest buildings in the world, as also were The Twin Towers till 9/11. According to a survey in 2005, the city housed a diverse range of people. Around 170 languages were spoken and 36% of its population was born outside the United States.
