Sporty new Audi TT goes back to the future








AUDI has lifted the lid on a racy new version of its TT roadster - the Clubsport Quattro.
The stylish newcomer made its debut at a special event for professional tuners in Austria and the company is hinting that it may go into production, albeit on a limited scale.
Based on the original speedster, it has special windscreen pillars that give the impression of a wrap-around glass screen plus an open cockpit.
Beneath the bonnet is Volkswagen’s two-litre TFSI petrol engine generating 300bhp, linked to a new seven-speed sequential-shift DSG transmission system.
A rasping engine note has been achieved by modifications to the exhaust system and handling has been improved by widening the track.
